2019 marked the 10th anniversary of Maggie’s Highland Golf Day, now an esteemed golfing event in the Highlands. Tomatin were proud to be main sponsor for our charity partners once again and as a first this year, presented and bottled an exclusive single malt to help raise funds.
By marrying together archived samples, we created a truly unique expression of Tomatin Highland Single Malt ranging in age from 10 to 43 years old and bringing together whisky matured in Bourbon, Sherry, Moscatel, Port, Virgin American Oak, and French Oak casks, these samples yielded just 60 bottles. These bottles sold out within a week of the event and raised over £5k in total, including bottle no.1 which sold on the evening for £1k. Tomatin also donated a bottle of our recently released Warehouse 6 Collection: 1975.
The day and night raised over £60k, with a fantastic time had by all. Andrew Benjamin, the Centre Fundraising Manager said, “This is the second year that we’ve had the privilege of The Tomatin Distillery sponsoring and supporting our prestigious golf day. Tomatin have been so much more than just a sponsor over the last two years having raised over £30k in various ways for Maggie’s Highlands of which we are truly grateful, we look forward to working with them for the rest of the year and indeed at next year’s golf day which is on Friday 17th April 2020.”
Speaking about their sponsorship of the event, Tomatin's Managing Director, Stephen Bremner, said: “After yet another fantastic Highland Golf Day we are delighted to continue with Maggies as our charity partner, and are looking forward to our third golf day event next year, 17th April, as headline sponsor. The centre in Inverness is reliant solely on fundraising. We are pleased to be able to help them reach their targets and also help to raise awareness of their vital support to our local community.”
