    MALTING > MASHING > FERMENTATION > DISTILLATION > MATURATION

    Step 3: Fermentation

We now have a base liquid that requires fermentation.

After the wort is cooled, yeast is added and a 48 hour fermentation process begins, in which the liquid becomes known as wash, with an alcohol level of 6-8% alcohol by volume – abv, similar to a strong beer.
